The photo below was drawn from a Daily Mail article of November 27th regarding newly discovered Kriegsmarine postcards. The caption apparently reads 'Getting ship shape, it was too good to be true'. How very drole! What struck me though were the uniforms worn by the girls. They look very un-German and actually very similar to the USN dress whites or "cracker jack". Was there a Women's auxiliary to the Kriegsmarine? Was this anywhere close to their uniform, or is this just a universal, cabaret portrayal of girl sailors? USN POW's they're clearly not.
