Or am I the last man standing? I see there's been no postings in the Mess since April. Any regulars still look in?
ciao, GAC
The future is dark, the present burdensome; only the past, dead and finished, bears contemplation. Those who look upon it have survived it: they are its product and its victors. No wonder, therefore, that men concern themselves with history.

Look in about 3 times a week. Seems like teaching is taking more and more time.

I have been far less regular at checking in than I should be, I guess.
Trying to find some topic which will stir up some interest/debate. Ken

Still here. I look in usually once a day or so, hoping to at least see a drunken cyber compatriot in the mess, if not a post elsewhere to stir the brain
cells. I'm pretty busy of late, trying to get alot of reading done regarding the usage of Confederate Cavalry (particularly irregulars) and their
effectivness. That and working on the hovel before winter sets in.

Hey, good to see some of you are still checking in when you can. Conspicuous by their absence are Soren, Axel, Brian, Kevin, Tom and Pete.
I guess there's plenty we could be saying about the effects local to each of us of the collapse of the 'Age of Greed'. Maybe houses will now go back to being first and foremost homes, rather than investments for a quick return. Best, George

Well, life takes its toll.
I am back, however, and be warned that the website (worldatwar.net) will move soon - after just 7 years of stagnacy. When I quitted my job the website was left with my old employer, and it took some time to sort out the conditions of moving away my websites and domains. When the site goes up at the new place, we will once again have the chance to actually do changes and install a CMS. |

Please keep us posted about the new web address Schudak. I just found the place this morning.

Axel,
Good to hear from you again! Will there be a link to the new site posted for a period before this one disappears? Hopefully those of us left can form some kind of nucleus as a basis for a rennaissance in the WaW's fortunes at a new site - which will perhaps attract a little more traffic than has been seen here recently! Anyway, good luck with the project Axel, and a Happy New Year, with best wishes for 2009 to you and to all the rest of the squad who still look in from time to time. Regards, George

If all goes well, the link will not be necessary. It will be the same address just at another server.
All that can happen is that for a day or two the link will not work while they bugle around the nameservers. |
